Mike and the Micros have been as much a part of the Legend named AJ’s as anyone, since they have been a house band from the day we opened our doors in 1984. Adding their own flavor to the casual, laidback atmosphere of AJ’s, Mike and the Micros play a variety of styles and genre and do it with a flair and quality that makes them a Destin favorite, and a member of the AJ’s hall of fame. Founding members Mike Turner on keyboards and the unbelievably skillful Jim Fuller on guitar have meshed a wonderful sound through years of playing daily together and honing their music skills. Add in the unique styling of John Hoormann’s bass and Tim Prescott’s rhythmic drums and you have a fusion of talent that is reflected through the wide ranging sets that pumps out a reggae version of Knock’n on Heaven’s Door, followed by a Dylan classic and then slips into a more current hit by John Mayer, all without skipping a beat. Also unique is the flexibility and talent that allows each member of the group to take their turns as lead vocalist, showcasing each member of the groups talents as both musicians and crooners. Mike and the Micros is the longest running house band in Destin and AJ’s is proud to call them our own. Be entertained by Mike and the Micros Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
